Define what integration means

An integration may be a link, file export, browser extension, copy helper, one-way feed or two-way interface. Record exact systems, versions, environments and workflow result. Do not accept the word integrated without this detail.

Map the data contract

List the source of truth, fields, attachments, codes, identifiers, direction, trigger, frequency and expected latency. Define how consent, corrections, deletions and access restrictions propagate.

Test exceptions and reconciliation

Use duplicate patients, changed demographics, cancelled appointments, amended notes, rejected claims, downtime and delayed messages. Determine where failed transactions appear, who receives an alert and how the clinic proves systems agree.

Assign lifecycle ownership

Name the owner for each endpoint, monitoring, change notice, regression testing, certificates, credentials and upgrades. Keep a field map, data-flow diagram, security review, test results, defect log, sign-off and rollback plan.
